    Tips For Agents

If you're an agent and you're leaving a voicemail here are some handy hints:

    Speak clearly.
    Say your name very clearly.
Say your company very clearly too.
Give a rough indication of why you're calling. "I have a role" is useless. Of course you have a role, it's why you exist.
Rattling off your phone number at light speed means I have to rewind the message many times and then I get annoyed.

Add your handy tips for agents below. Are you an agent? Add your tips for contractors. Let's all get along

I never answer my phone unless I know who's calling and want to speak to them. Agents and anybody else can leave a message; if their errand actually justifies spoken communication I'll call back.

99% of the time there's either nothing to say ("permanent role for a SNOBOL specialist in the Outer Hebrides, experience of sheep dips an advantage") or communication by email would be more appropriate.

This isn't always possible or appropriate behaviour.
While you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you. It's a Spanish story about a guy named 'Manual.'
