    Deep perversion

Interesting the way they curve the tops over.
While you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you. It's a Spanish story about a guy named 'Manual.'

Have you ever seen any videos of metal "spinning"?

    Now that is an art!

Yeah, I didn't understand that bit. She said something about 2 degrees of wall thickness?

Ah that's interesting, I always wondered how things like that were made, I assumed it was some sort of a press.

I used to do it, at least one helicopter part required a tube to have the end 'spun'.

When it became apparent that no-body on our team knew how to 'spin' they sent me over the road to watch a guy making lampshades from sheet metal.

Something has to 'give' to stop excess heat so when spinning soft material you use a hard tool, when spinning a hard material you use a soft tool... Halcyon days.
Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave Johnson

The last bit of spinning I saw was on one of Fred Dibnah's programmes. Clever stuff indeed.

As a geek and a scuba diver this gets two thumbs up from me, fascinating.
