Long story short. Clientco have got a new contractor in to help out an adjacent team with some simple stuff which all the permies seem to think is beneath them. Apparently he's turned out to be a bit rubbish, and also fairly sweaty, so they're looking to get rid of him. No replacement lined up yet, but they've instructed the agency to stop paying his invoices, to see if he'll just go quietly. Strangely however it seems like he's still turning up on site?
He's been brought in by a consultancy rather than directly by the end client, and it looks like they are stringing him along a bit until a replacement can be found, and trying to get a bit of free work done (even if it isn't great output being produced). Obviously most of us would have had more balls and demanded payment or threatened not to come on site, but this guy seems happy to just keep turning up day after day.
(Word is he was also a bit sweaty/hung over in his interview but the consultancy thought they'd offer a low rate anyway and see if he took it).
How long do we reckon he might keep showing up for without invoices being paid?
