Evening all,

Can I have a show of hands for a contractor meet up in Brum, around early December. See poll.
If we have a few takers then we'll make it a go-er, if not so popular then we'll all stick to watching porn in our bedsits.

I'm also up for a ruby if anyone else is.

Can do ...

Not sure about curry but I'd like to put The Lord Clifden as possible venue for food - it really kicks arse...

Looks good, maybe a few beers around st pauls square/ jewellery quarter then?

Not that i've been drinking around there for ages, but it used to be quite good.

Good plan - great food at that pub...

St. Paul's square area fine by me but I don't know the pubs these days. Any good for real ale?

Just remembered I went to The Lord Clifden during jazz fest. The beer was OK.

Good to have you on board Tin Trump. You could say I have an interest in real ale also, so will likely be a pub serving decent beer.

The Church Inn, a few doors along from The Lord Clifden, used to serve Bathams. :p
I know its changed hands several times in the past 5 years so can't vouch for it now. In fact some recent reviews seem pretty poor.

Blimey, at this rate we'll need a much bigger venue!

I know. I'll slip some advertising in on the main forum a bit closer to the time.

I know there's a few posters from round this neck of the woods. Would be nice to have a few more takers.

I'm still up for a beer but an early Dec. date might not be good for NF due to the CUK Xmas drink in London. AtW has also been absent for a while after leg-pulling in General.

I'm still up for it....perhaps I should've suggested a date earlier....now that London lot have nicked the best weekend date.

My preferred dates are 26th November, 3rd or 17th Decemeber, which are all saturdays.

Can do Fridays also if preferred, but we still have full day Friday down here.

I'm sure Alex is around.

And i'll reveal the plan B to any attendees...if you're bothered.

Right then, about time we set a date.

So the proposal is Saturday 3rd December, at The Lord Clifden in the jewellery quarter (AtWs recomendation), Biringham meeting at, say, 7:30ish for a few beers and a bite to eat - I will be eating anyway. We can then stay there for a few or head somewhere else a bit later.

So Tin Trump, AtW, NickFitz, Keninparis (if you're still around) and anyone else that wants to come let me know if the time is ok with you.

MF - You can't change your mind now. All voting is final :tongue.

Fine. I'll PM you my mobile no. so we can find each other on the night. At the first Manchester drinks meeting I attended I had to play spot the contractor; fortunately RC was there and I pegged him as one straight away.

Well, there are a grand total of 3 of us turning up. Me, AtW and Tin Trump.

If there's any more people in and around Brum up for a few beers, it'd be good to have a few more show.

RC, you out there? Still in this neck of the woods?

(If it was a day later, or even the Monday, I'd have been up for it. Will have to make do with drinks with OS on Monday night instead)

And you're still not invited :tongue.

It's quality rather than qantity you know. We'll be fine with a couple of pints and a bit of contractor chat. Although one of us has a real international business, and AtW doesn't do bad either.

Lol. I once used that line in my early 20's when I confronted some fella about nicking drinks in a bar in Lanzarote. He squared up to me and within about 5 seconds there were 3 more lads with him. I glanced over my shoulder to see the lads I was with were legging it, and the lad said to me 'You're outnumbered, there's 20 of us' to whit my reply was 'It's quality mate not quantity' and outstared the bullshitter:winker:. He backed down, apologised and bought a beer.

Later once I'd tracked down my pussy mates me and one other went to another nightclub. After we'd been there for a while a large group of about 20 lads came in, drink stealer in hand who just nodded on the way in.:emb
