It’s not good to bet on red/black as the odds are less than 50/50. You will be much better off betting on columns or dozens moreover Vegas has poor odds on roulette anyway as they have a double zero as well as a zero.

Not true. On some tables with red/black or even/odd the house edge is halved because you only lose half your stake when 0 comes up. Other than that the house edge is the same for any bet combination of bets including columns or dozens (which are just the same as 6 or 12 numbers respectively).
