    Another MotoGP death

Marco Simoncelli killed in accident at Malaysian MotoGP - Telegraph

So unlucky to be hit by the other riders, that type of 'off' happens all the time and usually results in nothing more than a few bruises.
Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave Johnson

Saw this live yesterday morning, very sad, he was a true character in the MotoGp world. Hair like Side Show Bob and the italian chat ala Rossi and Co, always a hard charger.

Sad to see him go like that, but then again its the risk you take in that job. RIP
Never has a man been heard to say on his death bed that he wishes he'd spent more time in the office.

Looked really bad, just watched it. Think the helmet came off a bit easy.

For MotoGP, you might think, but for racing generally the accident record is not great:- Crockford serious, but stable - News | Motorcycle Sport | BSB Results | MCN

And then there's Ian Hutchinson whose leg got run over on a start line incident a year ago at Brands who has only just got back on a Superbike for testing - one year on!
