    No to 70 million

    We've already exceeded 70 million, but what the heck.

    Why don't these petitions allow a "don't agree" or "no" option?

    Love this response;

    Don't let the public decide. Especially if they read this newspaper.

      Top rated poll on that site:

      Convicted London rioters should loose [sic] all benefits. 249,641 votes

      Convicted London rioters should loose all benefits. - e-petitions

      Which means the government now have to debate loose benefits.

        What's the point of these petitions? You all sign up for a EU referendum and it gets abolished.

        I reckon England increases it's population so it can say it spends less per head than Scotland on vital public services.

          What exactly are "loose" benefits? Are they anything like tight benefits?

            I don't think it means they have to debate it at all. Unless they changed it in the last few weeks, they still need an MP to 'sponsor' the debate and the MPs complain they aren't allocated any extra time to look at the public petitions.

                immigration is the reserve army of capitalism

                That's why those who promote it like labour are the "useful idiots" of the system.

                It's easier to import cheap labour than to pay decent wages. And then to blame the english worker for not be "willing to do tough jobs".

                  ...who could have made use of the extensive free or subsidized education and training possibilities offered by the British government to get themselves good qualifications, but would rather whinge and whine about foreigners, many of whom were never offered the same chances, and then blame other people for their problems rather than get off their arses and get their own bloody lives in order.

                    The British have a whollier than thou attitude. Almost as if their shit: smells better than other people in the world.

                    Britains welfare system is a disgrace, without it, litter pickers, toilet cleaners, car washers etc would be British born, not foreign born. If you don't want to do a low paid job, get an education or work yourself up.

                    Big kickup the arse needed.
