One of the biggest UK victims of European policy.
What was once one of the biggest fishing ports and fleets in the UK destroyed by fishing quotas and allowing other EU members to fish traditional waters.
On the back of that the fish processing plants have similarly diminished.

No industry has replaced this so young people who would once have guaranteed to be working in the fish industry now have nowhere to go unless they leave home and head for the smoke.
        Just saying like.

        where there's chaos, there's cash !

I could agree with you, but then we would both be wrong!

I have no idea where they got that picture for Wigan and Warrington - it is obviously of fiddlers ferry but they have made it look like something out of a near future dreary holocaust type movie.

there are loads of chav scum sorry neets in Warrington n Wigan though!

Doh! Wigan appears on that list. My home town.

Gonna have to sell up and move. Maybe Doncaster, or Grimsby ....
