Wouldn't / Won't a big slide in the Euro benefit the EU though, if it gets exports moving ?

      The end is nigh.
While you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you. It's a Spanish story about a guy named 'Manual.'

I think I agree with other commentators in the national press who postulate that this Mrs Merkel is bluffing on the behalf of her nation when they say that they will not allow ECB to be lender of last resort and there will be no Eurobonds.

The line that this woman keeps coming out with is that they are vehenently opposed to any such action and we read into this that the hand of history is playing its role. Because there is history, this aversion you see it comes from the hyper inflation which came afetr the Weimar republic and look what happened afterwards.

But are they over - egging the pudding? Personally I think they are playing for some pretty major concessions or sweeteners. "More Europe not less Europe" - perhaps the intended consequence of all these shenanigans will be more Germany.

I think you may be right, if the ECB doesn't start "printing money" aka buying bonds on a large scale.

I don't think that will help either. I mean it will "help" but it won't help, if you see what I mean.

The end will be messy but the beginning that comes afterwards will be exciting.

I reckon there is a slow-run on Euro banks taking place, electronically, of course the banks will not let it be known as it will be the end of them.

The end will be messy but the beginning that comes afterwards will be painful for most people

I don't think it will. The end will be painful. What comes after will be an exciting time of opportunity to remake the world.
