    Requests for Compassionate leave

    Recent requests received for CL

1: Senior Test Managers cat has had to be put down by the vet & she doesn't feel up to working the rest of the day
Can't see why someone could get so upset about a animal, I was upset when my dog died but I was an lot, lot younger & I still managed to carry on working - I really don't expect this behaviour from a mature individual

2: Another on the project (middle aged) found out that his daughters boyfriend has terminal cancer
I grant this is a tulip but there's fook all he could do as she was living away from home with boyfriend so it's not like he could go & comfort his daughter -but wanted to go home anyway

Are these people bedwetting types or is it my lack of empathy at fault?
It seems that more and more of the nation are just getting too emotional for no real reason, I could understand if close family are involved but it's just getting more and more pathetic

Both are contractors - & I don't think these are ruse's to go for interview's but shall see when time sheets are submitted if they expect payment for full days
How fortunate for governments that the people they administer don't think

Yes and yes, and you'll be needing a contract Test Manager.
And what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument? Dodgy Agent, 16-5-2014

Just reading this thread has made me well up. I'm off home.

          I took yesterday afternoon off.

DS1 was having an operation at the hospital. Did I go home. No
DD1 needed picking up from school as no-one was at home. Did I go home. No.
Mrs MF pranged the car on the way to the hospitral. Did I go home. No

Client forgot to sign my last 3 timesheets. I was so gutted I had to go home for a lie down.

Like that cat would mourn the death of its owner for more than 0.000001s.

Cats are selfish evil little fookers.

They would make great IT contractors if they could type.

A dog is man's best friend.

A cat is man's slightly weird, obnoxious flatmate that looks down it's nose at you and then steals all your food.

I must admit the guy with the son in law who had terminal cancer would have been OK to go home in my book.
