    Market f*cked

Java fell from £34.25 to £32.96, C++ dropped from £33.92 to £33.08 and C# went from £33.27 to £32.80. Given the rates for Java and C++ in January, (£35.70 and £38.40 respectively) these falls mark a significant six month drop off: 8% in the case of Java, and 14% for C++. The C# rate over the same period has actually risen slightly, despite this month’s drop, from £32.30 in January, a rise of 2%.

Surely the market for programmers is pretty fecked at the moment, not just for Java and C++. Why? Outsourcing...

WageSlave I'm a bit disappointed at your remarks.

I thought my hint was more obvious. The title and intro... to the thread were just a cover, because this thread is really about....

What about the rates for whores in London? Has the influx of talent from developing nations affected rates?

I know my rate has remained pretty stable and I don't even take it up the Gary.

Lets face it, they are all about the same.

"Oh you Java boys on £32.96/hr, us C# boys can only dream of a 16p/hr increase like that".

Reason market is dying? Cheapies from India and eastern Europe. It's a global market on pay, but not on taxes I'm afraid.

Doesn't sound too catastrophic to me. Remember, these are averages and the average person has 1.999 legs. Rebrand yourself a consultant and charge a day rate of £1k. Sorted.

Sorry BB...I shall skulk away from the board in shame.

By way of redemption, can I point out that Emmannuelle Beart has a fantastic @rse, which she has gloriously displayed in several films, along with all her other wonderful goodies?

Good lord. I thought I was the only one earning in the £30s and the rest of you were all on £50+. That's nice.

It's people like you Xog that make me sick. Skewing averages. Probably why I only have 1.999 legs.>:
