More dangerous than smoking & drinking

BBC News - Every death on every road in Great Britain 1999-2010

I zoomed in on my area and it's mostly (older) pedestrians getting mown down.

While you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you. It's a Spanish story about a guy named 'Manual.'

This incident took place on the Axxx in County Durham at 11.32pm on 6 June 2009 One car was involved. It was snowing and there were high winds and it was dark.
I'm not sure that is accurate, anyone know a way to check?

Anyway, back to the OP's question...

36,371 road deaths in 11 years = 3,300 per year

~100,000 deaths per year from smoking link

~33,000 deaths per year from alcohol link
It's about time I changed this sig...

This incident took place on a C road in Salisbury at 11.09am on 26 February 2000. Two cars were involved. It was snowing and it was daylight.
            That one isn't accurate either.

I was on the way to a mate's stag do and was about to go past it just after it happened but another motorist who had already stopped directed me down an alternative road. I didn't know what had happened until later.

It was earlier in the day than that and it was not snowing.

They don't seem to have checked their data very well.

This incident took place in Larne at 1:50am on 18th December... and it was daylight.

Sure, on the other side of the planet it was daylight.

Sounds like the police ran their data through the Met Office Climate Change computers.

I suppose snow in summer is possible in County Durham, up in the hills, but still unlikely.
