    ... perusal of the 'comments' pages on a news website.
    And what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument? Dodgy Agent, 16-5-2014

      Actually the best argument against is the number of no voters at a General Election

      When seriously bored I go onto the Mail comments pages and see what is the maximum number of reds I can attain in a day per post

      I suspect others are playing the same game
      How fortunate for governments that the people they administer don't think

        Yes, not my hobby, but I always suspected that the 'charts', in the days when you actually bought records, were heavily influenced by a few very wealthy people with incredibly bad taste who bought multiple copies of some record they liked.

        Consider the following 'popular' beat combos and artistes;
        Rick Astley
        Brotherhood of Man
        Rick Wakeman
        All 'boy bands'

            You're confusing something which is popular for something which is good.
            You'll find that popular songs/films/books are all middle of the road crap which appeals to a broad audience gaining popularity that way.

            This is why serious awards are judged by a panel of experts not by a bunch of thickos phoning in 1000's of times

                Sounds like the new Italian government. Could be worrying for career politicians if it works.

                  Give professors more voting power and the lentil party will win the next election.

                    This is why incumbent governments gravitate to the left or right whilst in power and to the centre when not.

                    You can fool MOST of the people for MOST of the time.
