    Dumbing Down?

I am all for the plain English campaign, but surely there comes a point when they are simply dumbing down.
I fail to see how the use of words like "precipitation" in a weather forecast can be determined as "bull".
English is a wonderful language and should be used to its full extent without being overly obfuscated.

I do. I believe dole cheques should only be handed out on very rainy days.
