BBC News - Fare-dodger thrown off train by passenger

ScotRail have said they are investigating after an alleged fare-dodger was removed from a train by a member of the public.

It shows a swearing youngster refusing to pay for his ticket.

A passenger then decides to help out the conductor by grabbing the boy by the scruff of his neck and dumping him on the platform at Linlithgow.

As much as I admire the portly gent who assisted, I wonder if he would have done it if the fare dodger wasn't a 12 year old scrawny kid in a stupid hat.

But non the less I wouldn't be surprised if he gets a call from the federales over an assault complain

Am still on the fence about this one. Yes the kid is fare dodging and all that but I do think the guy was over the top and potentially opening himself up for trouble. I am sure the kid would have moved with some words from the guy. I don't think manhandling him out like that on video is going to go down to well I am afraid.

He should have just grabbed his beanie and chucked it off the train - kid would then have to get off to get it.
