    MOO - You can whistle

Gave my unavailability to the client a few weeks ago over the Christmas period. Due to perms wanting to put in their holiday they've come back and questioned my 'time off' and said they cannot grant it.

I immediately replied that it's not a question of whether they agree it or not, I am not available during the Christmas week. No they're making a bit of a fuss and the answer is the same, they can whistle.

On the flip side, anyone want to sub for me during the christmas week?

Where is it and do they supply you with a trolley or a tray for transporting those hot teas round the office?

It's preferable to bring your own trolley, as a pointer outside of IR35.

I had an odd discusion with a PM once where I was challenged to provide them with an email showing my holiday authorisation - I was very tempted to send an email from myself to them to say - I hereby authorise this period of unavailability but then decided against my usual nature to be a little bit more tactful and politely informed them that I'd made the agent aware of these dates before commencing the gig and that I was still not available.

As long as they supply the biscuits.
While you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you. It's a Spanish story about a guy named 'Manual.'

Last gig I had had the opposite view - sent us home for Christmas as they knew there was nothing to do and didn't see why they should pay our day rate for eating Christmas cake and mince pies.

My Ltd can lease you a trolley for an initial 3 months and then one month rolling.

Well there is PI/PL insurance to consider as well as depreciation and health and safety.

I can provide a two week training course with associated HSE issues on using the trolley and then can wrap the insurance costs in the lease contract. Need to make sure I'm not liable if you burn yourself on the kettle.
