He'll be shitting himself if they throw the book at him. £2500 maximum fine. That's almost a whole half-hour's pay for him.

Assuming he's on just shy of £200k/week and works the usual 40 hour week.

Sounds like a dodgy euphemism.

No it was a rather nice bacon butty with tomato sauce on. Just what the doctor ordered after a hard night of ridding London of beer. I've had reports that the buggers have made more beer while I was asleep and so I have to start all over again. it's a dirty job etc.....

You can't call them coloured (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2077457/Alan-Hansen-coloured-race-gaffe-Match-Day.html) any more either!

Bit unusual as I thought that was the preferred term.

Is there a list somewhere for reference?

According to reports he intends to "prove his innocence". I'm not sure how he intends to do this, given there's video footage of him shouting racist abuse, but maybe I'm not as bright as he is.

Non-white or unemployed is the prefered terminology these days I believe.

Is truth a defence, like it is with slander?

His defence seems to rest on the fact that the video footage doesn't show him saying "You're not a" immediately before he goes onto to say ""£$%^&&*&%@@~".

I think he might be better off claiming cultural differences tbh...

I wonder if anything will actually happen to JT. The FA have double standards and I can see this going the same way as when Alan Shearer kicked Lennon in the face an d the FA gave him a snack on the hand as England were approaching a major tournament,

How likely is it that Rio Ferdinand will be Terry's partner in central defence at the next tournament (he is remarkably injury prone lately).

I wonder if there will be any animosity given it was his younger brother on the receiving end of the abuse.

It's JT's mission to see off an entire England back four before he retires. :laugh

The shocker is that criminal charges were filed and CPS things there is better than 50% chance of securing conviction which is in public interest...

Hansen now in trouble for remarks on last night MOTD during which he used the term "coloured".

BBC Sport - Alan Hansen apologises for TV remark (http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/16301357.stm)

I don't know why it's black and white anyway. What's wrong with pink and brown? Are we all too yellow when people see red, or just green around the edges and enjoy feeling blue? Beats me, I'm snookered on this one.

Seriously, these people need to get a grip and stop making something out of nothing. Hansen clearly had no racist intent.

Hansen clearly had no racist intent.Ah but it is only necessary to be perceived to be racist by the victim, ergo Hansen is guilty

I imagine any of the viewers who are not white (am I allowed to say that?)"Not white" is far more racist than "coloured" imo.

And not all viewers were offended. I work with a black guy who finds the furore over Hansen's comment just as ridiculous as I do.
