oh dear: Young people 'happy without God'

Church seeks spirituality of youth . . . and doesn't like what it finds
    By Ruth Gledhill, Religion Correspondent

THE Church of England has debunked the widely held view that young people are spiritual seekers on a journey to find transcendent truths to fill the “God-shaped hole” within them.

A report published by the Church today indicates that young people are quite happy with a life without God and prefer car boot sales to church.

If they think about church at all, the images young people come up with are “cardigans”, “sandals and socks”, “corrupt”, “traditionalist” and “stagnant”.

I'm confused about the massive popularity of The Da Vinci Code (which I haven't read). If there's supposed to be no particular interest in the Christian church these days and hardly anyone believes in Jesus or gives a toss about going to church and all that... then why the **** is this book selling by the shedload? Does the innate human desire for a conspiracy theory somehow override the accepted scientific belief that none of the Bible is true anyway?

"Scientific" and "belief" in the same sentence?

And what scientific evidence would that be? Please provide evidence and marvel us with your knowledge.

was there is no actual evidence that the bible is true, not that there is evidence that it isn't, you scamp. Nice attempt to misdirect the thread (again).
          Why not?

Please don't. I really couldn't stand the subsequent thread on a Monday morning.

There is evidence of lack of evidence that the events depicted in Bible true or actually can be reproduced (ie resurrection). The onus of proof is always on the one who makes claims.

It's 'cause they have it easy, in extremis one notices there are few atheists in a fox hole. Wait until the house price crash and they'll all be running back to church.
Insanity: repeating the same actions, but expecting different results.
