BBC News - Skyscrapers 'linked with impending financial crashes'

There is an "unhealthy correlation" between the building of skyscrapers and subsequent financial crashes, according to Barclays Capital.
The findings might be a concern for Londoners, who are currently seeing the construction of what will be Western Europe's tallest building, the Shard.
I think there might have been a warning about this in the bible

Subsequent financial crash? I thought we were in the middle of a 10 year crash?

Skyscrapers are only every built when land prices are so expensive it cheaper to build up rather than out.

The entire history of sky scrapers show that they only appear at the end of a boom (if something else doesn't kill them off before development begins). Mind you that could be because they usually take years to build.
