    Patter of Tiny Feet

    Introducing Spike:

    8 weeks old cocker spaniel.

As you can see, I think I'm going to have my hands full for a bit!

Seems to have settled into his new home already.

Spends most of his time curled up in front of the log fire!

Cute pup. Is he a working or show dog?

Working. Have a better temperament than the show dogs.

No, just a folder I upload stuff to.

I deep linked to that other pic from RogersMushrooms.com for an ident a couple of years ago. Forgot it was there tbh.

Cute pup! Hope it didn't come from the same breeder as my mates one.

It had to be re homed after it developed a taste for shagging anything that didn't move fast enough to evade it. That came to include cats, dogs, rabbits, toddlers, passing legs and cattle of varying sizes... There was a rather awkward episode with next door after their female prize show dog needed the morning after pill after Woody (apt name really) got a whif and broke into next door to service the poor bitch. (she was an afghan hound and home two foot taller than Woody...)

Mad as a box of frogs that dog was!

Its generally the owner's fault... wrong diet, not enough excercise etc etc.. These are high maintenance dogs that need constant stimulation, and if you dont intend to breed from them, get them "done" - it calms them down and is better for them health-wise.
Always do your research on the breed before buying else you end up in this situation...
Shame on him for buying a dog and then having to give it away because he couldnt cope... makes me so mad, as there are so many dogs looking for good homes.

Every chance you get, take him out (carrying him until vacinated) to socialise him and get him used to the big wide world. you have a very limited time frame to create a healthy balanced dog thats not scared/agressive.. also, contact your vet regarding "puppy parties" so he can mix with other pups of similar age in a safe environment - it really makes the world of difference!!
