Why do you think the UK is not part of Europe?

Did you not go to school or something???

Ok, here is an educational update for you.

The UK IS PART OF EUROPE!!!!!

Here is a lengthy article about the construct. In short Europe is the continent you belong to.

Europe - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Now stop displaying your lack of common knowledge by stating "Not here, but in Europe they blah. blah. blah"

That kind of statement only exposes you as a lesser person.

Europe is only a geographical entity.

But I agree that we should all bow in appreciation to the diving father in the sky for the great way he separated the UK from most other people.

I've tried this before and failed; you will soon be called a cretin by the self appointed cretinwatcher, and given a short history lesson telling you you are wrong. (ps, I think you're right)

Since you are in a position of knowing these kind of people fro the inside but still being able to see the objective reality and write a coherent sentence, do you have any idea of WHY this phenomenon is happening all the time?

            I am actualy curious.

In a nutshell England has had a completely different philosophical tradition to Europe. Starting with Bacon and continuing with Smith, England has believed in the empirical tradition of emergence and bottom-up organisation, while Europe believes in a Cartesian top-down approach.
This is very clear in the current crisis, where Europe is imposing structure from on high, while the UK believes in the invisible hand of the market.

Now do try to do some reading and get an education before posting childish rubbish on here.

Yes you couldn't respond to my previous explanation. Here it is again.

I don't know either; I don't really 'know them from the inside' as I've spent most of my life outside the UK; I was born in Africa, spent most of my childhood in Africa and continental Europe, lived in the UK for a few years in late teens and then left for Holland after a few of years in boarding school and college in England; English is my 'first mother tongue' if you like, Dutch being almost equal, although my parents are British but it doesn't really give me a lot more insight into some collective British psyche, if there is one, than you have. I have (among others) a British passport, which is very useful and I won't get rid of it as I have family in the UK and need to know I can always lilve there if family ties make it necessary.

However, personally I don't see anything in the way of life in Britain that I find particularly different to the rest of Northern Europe; yes, there are a few mad ball games and some funny traditions, but every country has eccentricities, happily. Brits, Dutch, Germans and Scandinavians seem to be very good at doing business with one another (I'd add the Irish to that list too although their culture is perhaps less Germanic) and there are good reasons for that; they're culturally very closely related).

                  Cue self appointed Cretinwatcher.

Anyway, are you enjoying the crisis? How's it working out for you? Lobsters are cheap these days I see. Yumyum.
