    3TB HD or 1TB SSD

This is for my late 2006 iMac. The last of the white models, I'm aware I could upgrade to the Aluminium model for less but I don't like the colour.

The SSD £700 and the hard drive £88

I'm thinking it has to be the HD... at that price, surely.

I figured I get a faster response in general - sure enough.

Colour is important, some incense burning -

Right I'm away to make a fat boy fry.

Why would you need 1tb SSD that is stupidily expensive.

I'd go 256Gb SSD AND Hard drive.

Could not fit both in my iMac (late 2006) or could I.... Well I'll be, someone already has.

Investigative mode on. 6 years later and I'm contemplating upgrading my Mac. I'm a sinner.

I've just bought one of the Seagate Momentus XT hybrid drives. 750GB HDD with a built in SSD cache controlled by onboard trickery so is independent of the OS. Best of both worlds.

Cant say how good it is as it hasn't arrived yet but reviews look ok: http://www.techradar.com/reviews/pc-...1055217/review

I wouldn't pay that for an SSD, ridiculous cost for a drive!
