    German car question/poll

    Looking to buy a new car next month. Got about 8K to spend (don't do finance, buying it outright) and wany a nice BMW/Mercedes/Audi saloon type thing. If you were in my position which one would you be looking at and why?

    Specs:

    Diesel, 4 door, up to 100k miles (no more), saloon, no more than £8k

    BMW 3 series
    Mercedes C class
    Audi A4/A6 (A6 is current frontrunner)

    A6 is as close as I could bring myself to anything in that list. That's before I'd rather hack my gonads off with a rusty old blade covered chilli sauce.

      I would say a4 or a6. a4 might be a little better, more economical perhaps ....

      Dont go with a bmw, they truly are awful lumps of crap.

        Feeling a little feisty today. What I meant for my recipients to read 'Go for the A6, a fine choice' my head and fingers were obviously not in alignment.

                    You might need to stretch the budget by £1K, but once you've sampled the shove of that twin-turbo straight six diesel, you'll not want anything else in that price range.
