Britain needs protection from space attacks say MPs

    Link

FFS what rogue state or terrorist organisation has the means to detonate a thermonuclear device in space?

We can't even give the Argies a good shoeing. About time they got their priorities right.

Newt Gingrich bangs on about this as well. How do you protect a nation from an EMP anyway?

For a start, replace copper phone lines with fibre optics.

Might even get broadband speeds up a bit.

Somehow, the real article has been misunderstood. This has nothing to do with terrorism.

The real story was scientists stating that the government and utilities still hadn't shown forethought for solar flares, strong ones can knock out satellites and electric grids like they did in Canada in the 90's.

Seems like you've been taken in by a misleading article so if a act of nature occurs, that thegives the filthy west chance to invade another country like Iran or Korea.

I'm tempted to raise the aesthetic standards of this thread in the only way I know. Should I?
