Socialising with people you met on the internet!! CUK in particular.

Are you happy to go out for a drink with people you have met over the internet, ala CUK social, other common interest groups? i.e. Face to Face, not over Skype

I belong to a motorcyclist forum and regularly go away on weekends on the bike.

New faces, old faces as you get to know folks.

I ask because it amazes me that London must be a hot bed of contractors and the numbers that turn up are generally quite low. Christmas and summer being the exceptions.

    Poll to follow.

Never has a man been heard to say on his death bed that he wishes he'd spent more time in the office.

I attended the Christmas do just to see what the fuss was about. I was expecting a group of suited and booted IT professionals like myself. I was dismayed to find myself with a mixed group of goths, IT nerds, pocket shufflers, nail chewers and some jewellery rattling wideboy who worked in banking.

I think I may join a motorbiking forum next time.

Yep, always a disappointment when you hope to get to know new, varied and interesting people and end up with a bunch of people just like yourself.
And what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument? Dodgy Agent, 16-5-2014

Sorry off-topic. But little known fact, I have posed in nothing but one of those Donkey Thongs at an Anne Summer party.

Those of you who have met me will realise that this was a few years ago.
