    MOT test

I have my car MOT tested. The garage asked me to fix windscreen. But he did not tell me to do MOT retest for free in 48 hour. Now, he charges me full fee. Who should I complain to? Can I claim MOT fee back?
    Thank!

I change my car before it is old enough to need an MOT.

Why are we getting (crap) motoring queries on here all of sudden?? Yesterday was a Volvo 940 leaking water and now this!!

I would say it was a tort for sure. He owed a duty of care to inform you it would incur an extra cost in the form of another MOT fee for him to fit a new window, because it is common knowledge such things can be done much quicker for a similar price to what he charged.

Unfortunately many such garages exist primarily to part the unwary from their readies, so just pay up and throw paint on his forecourt in a few weeks, you'll feel so much better.

Me too. The way I see it, you're not a real Contractor if you can't afford a nice new car every 3 years.

2 tasks to get you out of your current predicament:
            1. Look in Yellow Pages under "Car & Commercial Vehicle Dismantlers"
            2. Look in Yellow Pages under "Car Dealers - New"

Oh come on now! Barrack room lawyers have a long tradition going back to the previous board. We even have several (at least 2 to my knowledge) with law degrees, several practising lawyers and at least one real live semi-tame silk!

Except contract agreement, I hate to go through those documents full of small printing and legal terms.
