    Argies Catch 22

I have a friend who is an Argentinian and we have argued long and hard and over who owns the Kalkland Islands. Anyway we have done a deal . I get East Falkland and he gets West Falkland (fewer people to whinge about Argentinian control).

We've divvied up the Oil 50:50 , shook hands and guess what

He then admits that Argentina could not attack the Falklands as its one and only Aircraft carrier is stuck in port. Apparently they cant afford the Diesel needed to get it going

To think I could have had it all
Let us not forget EU open doors immigration benefits IT contractors more than anyone

Just as well really as we would struggle to defend it. Having aircraft carriers without aircraft is not a great plan.

Meanwhile UK's only aircraft carrier won't have airplanes on it for a few years ...

Perhaps they could do a deal with the argies. We supply the carrier and they supply the aircraft

I thought we had a deal with the French? Though apparently we insist on take-off/landing on the left and they insist on the right.

DOn't forget them pesky French ATC's who would put up a blockade of burning sheep on deck at least 4 times a year

For what it is worth there was a deal to co-operate with oil revenue, but the Argies ripped it up in 2007.

Now now...let's be fair to the French - they gave us an awful lot of co-operation during the 1st Falklands war, stopping further sales of exocets, practicing air attacks on our fleet as it sailed south (bet they enjoyed that) ... but bizarrely allowing their technicians to work on the already delivered missiles
How fortunate for governments that the people they administer don't think

Latest News: All French tanks are to be fitted with five-speed gearboxes, four of which are reverse.
