    Grand National

Won e/w on third and fifth - by my calculations, I'll break even on the £30 I punted

I was going to bet on one of them on the sole basis that it had a pentagram in its colours, but decided that was silly. It won

Lost by a nostril. That's what EW bets are for.

Mrs punted on Miss Walsh, so both of us got a place.

Oh, hang on - looks like I haven't got the hang of this betting malarkey yet

Turns out one of the ones that placed was 100-1, not 8-1 - having bet £30 of my own money and a £10 free bet for opening an account on the web site, I now seem to have £146.25

Well one of my horses was shot and I was excited until I realised the other was Neptune Equester not Neptune Collonges
