    More climate lunacy

    In Forbes

first they came for the sceptics

'We know who the active denialists are – not the people who buy the lies, mind you, but the people who create the lies. Let’s start keeping track of them now, and when the famines come, let’s make them pay. Let’s let their houses burn. Let’s swap their safe land for submerged islands. Let’s force them to bear the cost of rising food prices.

They broke the climate. Why should the rest of us have to pay for it?'

At least the biggest polluters are the ones starting to suffer. Unfortunately they are also the ones with the military might to move to better climes at the expence of the current occupiers and the rest of the world would back down and keep quiet.

Now theres a script for a new book or film

      Bunch of idiots.

Anyway we've always had famines - if they are so concerned about them, the growing number of people on earth is the major direct cause they could get their teeth into.

More worrying is the linked story (Obion County Home Burns As Firefighters Watch - The Daily Times) and the implication that this is a good model to follow.

        Nice unbiased piece though.

If one reads the preceding, carefully omitted para:

Let’s take a page from those Tennessee firemen we heard about a few times last year – the ones who stood idly by as houses burned to the ground because their owners had refused to pay a measly $75 fee.

We can apply this same logic to climate change.

We know who the active denialists are – not the people who buy the lies, mind you, but the people who create the lies....
it is clear that Zwick is writing with a degree of irony and metaphor that is missing from the bare selective quote - he is not talking literally about burning houses.

His basic point is that knowingly lying about a serious threat is morally repugnant. Rather odd that anyone has an issue with this.....
My subconscious is annoying. It's got a mind of its own.

Yes it certainly is morally repugnant to mislead people, as Judith Curry points out with regard to scientists in the IPCC.

              Try that defence in court.

The fact that alarmists have to resort to those kinds of arguments, metaphors or not, is a sign of desperation as the main signs of global warming such as loss of ice in the arctic reverse:

Let the facts speak for themselves.
