If you were to go perm what would you want your salary(+bonuses) to be?

Obviously you may have pension benefits/shares etc but based on salary & take home what seems logical to you?

    Poll to follow

Numbers are rough based on a calculator and yes I am aware there will be a few above £120k but I'm trying to keep it within the correct distribution.

        I'll vote against that.

It depends, what are my dependancies, what are my out goings, have I managed to pay off my mortgage, how much have I put aside from my time contracting, how much of a SIPP have I got?

Are you sure you are cut out for asking polls?

That's got nothing to do with it.

Question is simple. For you to swap from contracting to perm what salary would you want?

Some of you johnny come latelys will be thinking 'I'm worth 150k' but that's not really the issue. I take home a certain amount per year from contracting and if converted what would it be.

Do we get a lobotomy thrown in as well?

Although I have only been contracting 2.5 years, after having had 2 x 10 year permie jobs, I definitely wouldn't want to go back. The escape from the bitchiness and politics of permie office life has been a revelation. I see emails coming round reminding people about their mid term reviews and I don't know whether to laugh or cry. So given the same money, I would now choose contract over permie. Of course, if I couldn't get contract work, I'd go back to perm and probably be happy enough. In a situation where a permanent role meant a positive life change (e.g. moving to California!) I would of course take it. But I think to expect the same take home as you'd get from contracting is naive, but good luck if you can swing it.

£10-15 mln regardless if the company made a profit or not, plus £7 mln to cover my taxes.

                  Yours (if you afford me),

                  Bob D.

Why would you want another one?
