the first hit is for a restaurant in Melbourne. It's a bit far.

There's a nice one off Broadway by the Old Monk Exchange. Brilliant white flaky fish in beer batter and nice chips (drool)

Well worth the six mile round trip :smokin

The Golden Hind chippy (http://g.co/maps/waa5v) is spoken highly of. Shouldn't take too long to get there on the tube.

I had some chips there last week. Run by Greeks now. Not bad, but not brilliant either.
It's not really close to a tube station. Perhaps Bond Street or even Regents Park station would be closest, but then still a hike.

Considering how much a tube journey would cost, would be better/quicker imho to seek out a local pub that serves up fish n chips.

Sod that! Make your way to the churchill arms on kensington church street. If Jerry Still runs the place the Thai food is fantastic!

Take the 27 bus straight to Turnham Green in Chiswick and go to Chris's Fish Bar on Turnham Green Terrace.
