Solar chargers not looking so tulip now

I was looking at solar chargers again today and they don't look as bad as in days of yore, as long as you get one of a decent size.

£100 for up to 5 watts, which is enough to charge a smart phone in a few hours. I reckon a UK noon day sun might just about approach that, with 1 to 2 watts average power for the day. These use higher efficiency panels than in the past and are looking like viable sources of (expensive) mobile power.

Handy for camping, though I don't know what use you hotel dwellers would have for them.
