A piece of news for the city

At least Hollande and Merkel agree on one thing

All the Euro transactions are welcome over here.

The city does what it has been doing for hundreds of years - making money out of foreigners.

This is a token gesture, set at a ridiculously low rate, it will raise 6 shillings and sixpence and will be used to purchase new pencils for a Greek primary school. But the point is they can say that they are moving wealth from the bankers to the poor people and 50 year old Greek pensioners we'll feel relieved they can maintain their lifestyles.

The UK already has stamp duty on shares, but companies are still quoted on the London Stock Exchange, I doubt all the co's will delist for the sake of a 0.01% tax rate.

Politics is all about spin and symbols. Socialism is now raising sixpence from a millionaire....it's the fact you do it.
    I'm alright Jack
