The kids will be alright then.

The guy was on R4 this evening saying there was no other country in the world in a better position to take advantage of the emerging markets.

Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave Johnson

“Favourable population growth will be key,” the research states.

Toscafund believes the UK population will swell to more than 85m by 2030 – in excess of the UN’s current projections.
Hopefully a fair proportion will move to Scotland and Wales rather than all squeezing into English cities/gettos.

“I can’t emphasise enough how the labour market and housing market in the UK are remarkably robust,” he said.
Perhaps because interest rates are close to zero and we are bankrolling the banks. That's to continue until 2050

However, the picture for the UK is not entirely rosy.
wtf#2, the previous stuff was "rosy..."

Nah London will expand like a supernova, it will envelop Swindon by 2044.

        Here's another opinion: http://www.tullettprebon.com/Documen...Report_007.pdf

        Forecasts they made in 2011:
        • The debt reduction plan is to fall apart at the seams ✔
        • Things are going to get worse ✔
        • House prices are going to fall [currently held up by slashing interest rates]
        • Things might get very bad indeed
        • End of the road with no way out?
