The World Economy Beast is beyond control

The World Economy Beast is beyond your control, George Osborne - Telegraph

Perhaps it is simply too late for the World Economy to be brought back under any sort of national management: the operations of the market may have become too big, too electronically automated, too rapacious and ungovernable for any country to handle. If that is so, then the idea of the democratic nation state has reached a turning point. Get ready to hear a lot more bluster and self-pity from political leaders as they realise how little power they have left.

The only solution is one world government. Centred in London of course.

I don't think that's the issue, I think the issue is when the world economy and its powerhouses started controlling elected governments.

Governments have no power other than to do things to appease multinationals, else they face losing all the jobs as the companies go elsewhere.

which is as it should be.

The UK government should be tasked with making the UK crime free, well educated, benign tax, rule of law, minimal red tape and clean streets in order to attract businesses to invest and people to stay. At the moment the best we can get is some mad Ruski with the business acumen of a Hippos arse, borrowing money from a Dutch clown to build a porn site that sounds like an off licence.

And that opinion is where we differ.

I believe it's a governments job to serve it's populace, and the interests of its citizens.

You may believe this goes hand in hand with appeasing the desires of big business , which is your opinion. I do not.

I agree wholeheartedly with that. My point is that governments enjoy monopolies that have been torn apart by globalisation. I am not saying that the country should be handed over to big business. What I am saying is that the government now has an obligation to encourage a business wealth creating environment. If it doesnt capital and people will walk. If this happens then the country will have nothing to tax.
It is not as simple as a country "serving its own citizens" any more. removing the monopoly now means that governments have to spend taxes wisely

maybe the govt should be looking towards smaller business' as they were the big business' of days gone by. All the focus to big business in my opinion doesn't help wealth creation apart from a select few.
