A 15-year-old boy is seriously ill in hospital in Manchester after he was shot five times by a masked gunman. His 13-year-old friend was also wounded when the man got out of a car and opened fire on a group of youngsters.

A man has died and another was seriously injured when shots were fired into a car in Sheffield. Five people, including the two victims, were in the car in the Fir Vale area of the city when the shooting took place just before 1800 BST on Saturday

A man has died in a suspected stabbing incident in a pub.
Police were called to the Wisbech Arms in Exchange Square, Wisbech, on Saturday night after reports of a disturbance at the pub.

A murder investigation is under way after a man died in a knife attack in Greater Manchester. The 37-year-old suffered a single knife wound to the chest during the assault in the early hours of Saturday, in Heywood, Rochdale.

Not really, the weather in Baghdad is more sunny.
I've seen much of the rest of the world. It is brutal and cruel and dark, Rome is the light.

          blah blah
It is certainly true that there's alot of stabbing going on (and I don't just mean in the gay massage parlour). But what is not clear is whether these types of crime are increasing. Isn't it the case that newspapers latch onto particular topics at certain times, and report cases nationally that would otherwise have gone unreported.

Are you saying that rather than give a fair and balanced account of the day's goings on, the newspapers are biased, and even create news stories? Scurrilous.

                Godlessness in the Last Days

But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with them.

Don't forget the man shot in the chest when a gang of 20 blokes dressed in blue broke into his house the other morning.
