I wonder what a war between super powers would look like. Presumably the nuclear option would be held in abeyance on MAD principles. Massed armies of civvies willing to line up to be shot doesn't seem feasible without a heck of a lot of motivation, dehumanising of the enemy and propaganda. Although recent wars, e.g. Yugoslavia got nasty quite quickly. Long range conventional bombing? Economic / internet battles instead? -
