    Used nails & bolts

    Hello everybody

My name is Kay Davenport, i am an artist and i am looking to ask your guys if there is any way that you could help me with a new project that i will be starting shortly.
I am looking for any used or unused nails or bolts that you may over on your worksites. I require sizes from 4" up to 9" it does not matter if they are bent or mishapen as they will end up this way anyway.
i am unsure as to how you would normaly dispose of your used nails on site, but if i can not drive to your location i could send a courier if there were enough to collect.
I am genuine in my plea to you, and this can be verified if you would like to visit my website to confirm you are more than welcome to do so. it is:
    Resin artist contemporary resin art
If you are unable to help me at this time but may have any suggestions as to helping me find other sources i would be very pleased to here from you.
Thank you all for taking the time to read this posting and i hope to here frome some of you shortly.
    Kind regards

    Kay

Makes a change from the spam offering viagra, so I've let it through.

Just one question, Kay - you did read the description of this forum?
All hope abandon ye who enter here. Seriously.

Mostly, we're IT contractors here. Not building contractors, by the way. I might have some old VB programs you can have.

Most artists I've met are rather dim and usually up their own arses.

Nuts and bolts? Have a crack at some art with paint and brushes and let's see how good you are.

I could scatter some pieces of iron on a gallery floor and call it art, I couldn't paint a house, walls or a picture.

It would be more creative to start with a large resin ball, stick hundreds of old nails and bolts into it and call the result a giant curled up hedgehog

Years ago myself and a mate had just finished busking and visited a local art gallery which had a very good restaurant, my mate was at art school. The gallery had several rooms so we left our instruments in hard cases in the middle of the floor of one room while we wandered around to come back to a few people crowded round the cases discussing the meaning of the exhibit. You should have seen their faces as we shouldered through and collected our instruments.

I invest significantly in art and have a very good collection with some pieces still in gallery's as they're too big or valuable to have at home. I have good friends in the art world who advise me where my knowledge is lacking and what I have at home enhances my living space.

Of course it's all subjective but 99.9% of what's out there is sh1te.

                  Will this one do?

It's only about 3 inches long but is probably still good for a few projects yet.

As a student living in a crummy rented room I used to make my own "art" to make it a bit less dismal. One item was a radio with lots of 3" nails glued to the top. Never understood how nobody gave me a million for it.

PS No unused nails that size, sorry, but got lots of old 1980s ICs and transistors. How about them? Could symbolise the transient nature of modernity or something.
                    PPS Like that art!
