    Official Olympic NON Sport Thread

For bitching about how it's a corporate-sponsored joke run for profit and political scheming rather than a worldwide festival of sporting excellence, complaining that it's messing up your commute and hogging all the TV bandwidth, etc

    Have fun...

It's a big leftie, NHS leftie arty NHS leftie thing. And Dr Whoish but without Dalek or Nazi representation. Why can't it be like in 1948?

Yes, the whole Red Arrows, queen, Bond, soldiers, flag, anthems, Seb Coe thing was a dead give away.

Speaking at the Olympic Park, Mr [Boris] Johnson said: "It wasn't global 'Brito-pap'. It wasn't just Big Ben and Beefeaters and red buses and stuff. It was actually the truth about this country in the last two or three hundred years told in a big, dynamic way.

"People say it was all leftie stuff. That is nonsense. I'm a Conservative and I had hot tears of patriotic pride from the beginning. I was blubbing like Andy Murray.

Ah, nice that he managed to get an Andy Murray dig in there

Yeah. That industrial revolution bit was good, but there was a sort of fast forward from Victorian times to 1948.

Since they were highlighting British exports like Mr. Bean and children's fiction (both of which they did very well IMO) it was a shame there was no Dr. Who... but more relevant would have been a Top Gear reference as the BBC's biggest earner. Should have had the Stig drive an Atom (another British masterpiece) over the Teletubby hill

At least Coe could have admitted he fooked up on seating.

Its like listening to Labour on the economy.
