    Cigarette packaging

I was aware of the campaign to get cigarettes packaged in standard, plain packs but hadn't paid it much attention, and thought it was probably a bit OTT.

But was slightly shocked yesterday at client co, when a girl had what I took to be perfume on the desk in front of her. It was only when she picked it up with her lighter I twigged it was her fags.

Surely this is blatently marketed to teenage girls.

Her ciggies may have looked sexy, but they still made her smell like an old ashtray.

Cancer Research have got a campaign here.

Worthwhile cause, or unreasonable restriction on trade?

Remove the branding. The ciggy merchants will just have to cope.
