    Coffee - How much is too much?!

    I drink a lot of coffee, and I mean a lot, I am easily into double figures of normal cups of coffee during the day, topped up with Starbucks Doubleshot Espresso drinks, I try to counteract this with water, maybe 2 liters a day but I think I might need to go cold turkey for a bit to give the system a bit of a detox.

    This is not going to be fun

    I snort 5 grams of cocaine a day. But it's ok, i counteract it with water.

        Why not replace every 2nd cup with decaf, then cut down on the number of cups, then maintain what you deem to be a normal level rather than doing a detox and then jumping back straight into the same pattern as before?

          I think a complete detox is needed to see if it's the coffee causing my problems or I have bowel cancer

            Why drink less?

            It's good for you:

            Coffee consumption may be linked to lower risk of type 2 diabetes (EUFIC)

            Overall, coffee consumption (both caffeinated and decaffeinated) was found to be associated with lower risk of Type 2 Diabetes and was not found to increase the risk of chronic disease.

              Have you considered speaking to a doctor ?

              I don't think there is a sympton that exists, that won't lead to the 'cancer conclusion' if you research it online

                  My fave is this NE bloke who worked with me at a Nuclear Power Station, all PV'd - DV'd in modern parlance, site doc checked us (and our balls - cough!) every month. Asked him....

                  Doc: Who much alcohol do you drink?

                  NE Bloke: About 17....

                  Doc: Units!!!

                  NE Bloke: No, - Pints....

                  Doc: Blimey. A week?

                  NE Bloke: No - a night....
