I did use the opportunity to remind my twins(10 yo) that its a dangerous world out there and people are often not who they pretend to be.

I saw the sun are offering £25k for info leading to her safe return. I was going to shop my uncle for the £25k - then I read this :-

"9. A claimant(s) who is a relative (or former relative) of a participant in any crime will not be eligible to receive the reward (or any part of it)."

So I don't think I will bother.

******* hopeless of the police considering they searched the house twice including the use of dogs.

There's no reason to assume the body was there during the previous searches.

Still, if we're going to allow ourselves to conjecture: maybe the body was concealed elsewhere; say, a lock-up garage. (After all, a neighbour says they saw the girl leave the house, which - if they are correct - means she may well have been killed elsewhere.)

Then, when the perpetrator suspects that the police are about to discover that they have access to a lock-up and search there, they need to move the body. As the police have already searched the house exhaustively, they have the bright idea of taking the body back there on the assumption that the house is unlikely to be searched again. However, a neighbour sees them taking a suspiciously large bag or bundle into the house and notifies the police, which prompts the search today that led to the discovery.

Interesting idea. But with police/media all around the house and local area - let alone searchers/well wishers/nosey parkers - I reckon it would be very tough.

Of course the alternative is that police missed the body while searching the house. I imagine it being like the house search scene from "life of Brian".....

Noticed a past-tense quote from his father in the original report, which struck me as odd.

His father, Keith, confirmed that his son had been in prison but said that since meeting Mrs Sharp he had turned his life around. "Having the family around has really sorted him out," he said.

"He is a different person and is really happy. He had a biological daughter but has never really seen her. He treated Tia like his own."

From the press release you quote below :-

"The second visit was a full search of the property with the consent of the occupiers. This was conducted on 5 August over a period of two hours. All parts of the premises were searched including the location where a body was discovered, five days later, on Friday 10 August."

That will not be good for him. That girl who covered for Ian Huntley - I forget her name - was treated as if she had done the crime! For standing by her man!

If no post mortem than maybe as body could not be moved? A friend once died sunbathing. Police could not work out how she died so treated it as murder and sealed off surrounding area - finally moved body after 24 hours. Turned out she had flu and got water in her lungs. Dies of drowning while sunbathing on the hotest day of the year.

Agreed. Though in her situation I think it was more a case of standing by someone that she genuinely thought was innocent, but that didn't have an alibi. It must be horrible to find out that someone you loved and trusted was such an evil human being. She should have stopped short of lying for him, though, whether or not she felt he was innocent; it's for the Courts to decide guilt, and lack of an alibi almost certainly wouldn't have been enough to convict him on its own if that had been all that pointed to his guilt.

No one commenting on the rumours that before he was boinking the poor kids grandmother, he was boinking her mother...?

"Hazell, who dated Tia’s mum Natalie, 31, was quizzed as a witness for two-and-a-half hours before being released."

In the sun so it must be true.... (http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/4480229/Everyones-got-a-shady-pastbut-I-didnt-do-anything-to-hurt-Tia.html)

We would only comment on such things if it was completely disbelieving. Sadly the New Labour inspired benefit sponging chavs have made this such a common occurrence that I find myself thinking that its normal for such people.

I bet they have! The question is - why are they not releasing it officially?
