    Oh Dear: Unnecessary Paid Subscriptions

It always amuses me in today's world how people wonder where their hard earned goes, dripping away and emptying their pockets

a case point, Tom Tom map updates

when I were a lad, mum and dad bought a road atlas every ten years for a tenner, these days Tom Tom want you to subscribe to map updates for something stupid like ten quid a month

and what's provoked this email, received an email this morning from an enterprising agency offering me to be in the premium list for a subscription of £4,99 a month, for that they offer me:

They have to somehow monetise the service. The 'premium' service is nothing but marketing blurb. Even if 1 out of 10 mugs fall for this they still are able to get some income coming in. Worth a try.

It's a bit like your local pizza delivery service offering to give you a copy of their flyer menu if you pay for it. For 4.99 a month you get a Premium Service where they will also answer the phone when you call for a pizza.

What they (not the pizza guys) should be monetising is matching contracts to contractors. Their "premium service" is just their cost of doing business.

My CV must be with pretty much every agency in the UK. If I were to use their premium service then the costs would be horrific.

Perhaps their premium service should be to have somebody tell you that the job you have shown interest in is bollocks and was really an attempt to harvest CVs
Rule Number 1 - Assuming that you have a valid contract in place always try to get your poo onto your timesheet, provided that the timesheet is valid for your current contract and covers the period of time that you are billing for.

          I preferred version 1!

Does this mean that I should cancel my CUK Premium Membership?
