This is a pretty poor argument IMO.
Having said that, there does seem to be an overlap between people who deny the harmful effects of passive smoking and climate skeptics. But I don't know whether there is a statistically significant correlation, let alone a a causal link.The material prosperity of a nation is not an abiding possession; the deeds of its people are.
