Key skills and responsibilities
* Support & Develop applications managed by the IT department
* Provide 3rd level IT Support to staff
* Manage systems security in accordance with IS Security Standard (IS027001).
* Resolve and manage escalated Application Support issues
* Coach, develop and motivate the Business Applications team.
* Deal with escalated application and development support issues.
* Support team members in broadening their individual skill sets.
* Deal with application support & development requests.
* Work closely with the Service Desk to ensure knowledge, experience and skills are shared to allow a higher call resolution by the Service Desk (first time fix)
* Assist in the management of support service contracts with external suppliers Essential Technical Skills
* Microsoft C# and VB.NET (Winforms, Office Integration, COM Interop, distributed assemblies, VSTO)
* Microsoft SQL Server developer (TSQL, Store Procedures, UDFs, SSRS, SSIS, SSAS)
* Microsoft SQL Server maintenance (Profiling, Execution plans, Optimising, Indexes, Clustering)
* Knowledge of MS Visio and integration within Office 2007
* Knowledge of Network infrastructure, domain administration, exchange would be an advantage in terms of supporting the system
* Development experience within a Microsoft environment
* Additionally experience in the following is also highly desirable
* Windows
* DBA SQL Server
* Practical experience of application transition
* Practical experience of work in similar organisation/development environment
* Excellent Business/Data Analysis abilities
* Proven experience in Management Information (MI) solutions and Data warehousing (Kimball)
* Experience of change management process
* Familiar with a working knowledge of MS Office and Visio
* Excellent written and oral communications skills and able to Communicate at all levels, technical and non-technical
* Able to prepare and deliver management briefings. Able to understand and articulate complex ideas
* Able to determine service impacts and risks
