            If you are a teacher, foster parent or similar of the child then you have to be 18 to have a relationship with them.

            It's the law in England and Wales.

            The law was put in place because teenagers have crushes and adults should be grown up enough to realise they shouldn't respond to and exploit the teenager's crush.

                Did he quit his position? Can they legally prove they have had sex?

                As was said, now the fun begins. If she is madly in love with him, she'll deny anything. If she isn't, he's due a spell in pokey where I believe child abusers aren't very high up the food chain...
