Why is there a tendency for IT geeks to be big headed for no reason whatsoever?

I've noticed this trend - some geeks on here solve some trivial programming problem and then think they're intellectual gods who know and understand about every other issue going.
It only makes you look like the average fools you are.
Anyone of average ability can code.
There are some real excellent pros, but they're not going to be boasting on this forum.

I know SAS, often they even have the nerve to call everyone else thick. But it's the self-deluding sense of superiority that I find most amusing.

That and the trolling, of course.

Almost as perplexing as the trend which afflicts you, in which you assume anyone gives a fook what your latest random hypothesis is.

For someone that recently confessed to requiring formal training to even begin to think logically, you really are popping that mutton skull of yours above the parapet way too often.

Totally agree with you, there are also posters who claim to be gurus.

Who in there right might would want to boast about that

cos they know most of the managers have difficulty opening powerpoint if they big up fixing an excel formula they will see promotion and pay rises follow.

either that or they are so impressed with themselves for fixing it they just have to share.

              modesty is a dying art.

I think it is because no one at clientco, home or elsewhere (including their own parents) care. So they have to tell a bunch of other anonymous tulips instead.
merely at clientco for the entertainment
