I am a UK citizen with SC level clearance, but have the opportunity to acquire dual citizenship (British + Canadian). How will becoming a dual citizen likely affect my current clearance?

Pretty sure the only way to acquire 99% of citizenships is after a period of residency, that might be more of an issue with SC.

Ireland offers it though without any residency if you have an Irish parent or Grandparent dunno about Canada.

AFAIK its OK with SC and to a certain extent with DV. However if your DV with Strap you will lose your Strap clearance. HTH
