    Scotland and the EU

It may be just spreading FUD, but some people are busy claiming that an independent Scotland would not automatically remain in the EU, whereas England, sorry the UK, would.

A recent poll shows that, if they were given the chance to vote on the EU, the English would vote to leave the EU, and the Scots would vote to stay in theEU.

So it looks like nobody is going to get what they want.

If there was a chance most of Europe might vote to keep UK out of EU

Spain will veto any attempt of a separating country makes to join the EU. They don't want Catalan to get any more ideas.

Germany, Holland, Denmark, Sweden, Finland; all of them, despite the rhetoric, want the UK in the EU because they want as many 'sensible countries' that promote, among other things, free trade and solid economics, as possible, even if the UK sometimes protests about the money and isn't part of the Euro; when Mrs Merkel has to deal with the French, the Italians, the Spanish etc, I think she quite likes the fact that she isn't the only person in the room who believes in at least trying to balance the books.

By your logic England could simply choose to leave the EU thus England would get what it wants and Scotland wouldn't.

Realistically Scotland will remain in the EU, the terms of their membership is what might be affected.

Realistically it's not going to happen anyway.

Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.

I know that that weighs on their mind, but I ask myself whether Spain would vote to stop fishing in Scottish waters....
