    Not the average supper

Feeling happy, got in at 7.15 but now watching Masterchef having made Nigel Slater's mushroom and bulgar wheat risotto thingy and drinking a glass of home made apple wine that I've just discovered.

I may be average but ive made it myself and I'm happy

I did his ricotta beefburgers last week. They were very nice, but possibly made them a bit too thick, so took ages to cook - in the end I bunged them in the microwave for a couple of minutes.

I love Nige, he does make you feel like food is utter porn though

I know, so bad but yet so good. He makes it seem like such a naughty indulgence

I have to confess I find him a little irritating. His "oh, I'm so spontaneous" act just doesn't cut it for me. But his ricotta beefburgers were good. I think I may add a little chopped beetroot next time I make them

His previous series were better and a little less contrived than this one, but I do have a lot of his books.

My favourite is his baked camembert recipe.

It doesn't for Mr C either. Nigel is a guilty pleasure
